A look into a Penangtites fun

Hello people! How are you guys doing?

The smell of school holiday is kicking in, people starts to feel the jitters of travelling. What could be the best holiday destination for others? Mine would be Penang Hill.

What is there at the top of Penang Hill? One would need to find a way up to find out.
Penang Hill has a Funicular Railway which has the steepest tunnel track in the world and also the longest in Asia. Though the price of the tickets might be a bit pricey but the view is worth the green.

At the top of Penang Hill, it can be seen the oldest building (Convalescent Bungalow) dated to 1803, which feature a fusion of architecture from British colonial to Asian and modern architecture. Bel Retiro is a government bungalow on Penang Hill that was built in 1789 for the Governor of Penang, and remains within the exclusive use of the government. It is the most prestigious property which serves as a resort for high government officials and visiting dignitaries such as Yang di-Pertuan Agung (King) and Tunku Abdul Rahman (Prime Minister).

As much as there a lot of historical attractions, there is also an owl museum attached to the same building as Clift Café.

It is a privately own museum which exhibit various owl collections which range from wood, stone, metal, glass, clay, plastic, buffalo horn, seashells, beans, plant fibres, crystal, porcelain, earthenware, paper and recycled items. This museum fits perfectly to the hearts of this bird species. Whereas the Cliff Cafe or Astaka Bukit Bendera is a three-storey food and beverage centre which also attached within the same building as the museum. The view is particularly enchanting at night, when the city lights up.

Another popular attraction at the top of Penang Hill is the Little Village which consist of a Love Arch, Dwarf Village, Rabbit Garden and the green surroundings of Mother Nature which surely intrigues any love birds out there.

Not to forget the cultural diversity of Penang Hill such as the Penang Hill Mosque (Masjid Bukit Bendera) and Sri Aruloli Thirumurugan (Penang Hill Hindu Temple).

The most popular attraction of Penang Hill would be the widely-known Love Lock. An attraction that mostly attracts couples to lock their promises of eternal love and to symbolically seal their affection with creatively-decorated padlocks which shows such a beautiful tradition among the visitors. Surely, you do not want to miss.

There are actually a lot more places to stroll at the top of Penang Hill or most Penang-tites would call it Bukit Bendera, so one would never be bored. The reason I choose Penang Hill is because of the memories that I had shared with my two best friends there during a one-day camp held by our school. We toured around the hill and had so much fun. The memories still stay vivid until now.

Love,
Sarah
